Hello, my name is Angie and I’m Canadian. For someone coming from a snow-filled and people-short country like Canada, Guangzhou has been a big change, not just in weather and space, but also in culture—and for me, that has been the best part of living abroad. The want to learn something new has always been the driving force behind my goals and dreams. Living in China has been filling that want since the summer of 2008. I think that’s why I love teaching so much: I love learning, and any chance to pass on that love is a gift for me. This is one of the reasons that working for Wall Street English has been a gratifying and fulfilling experience for me. My colleagues are always supportive, friendly, and knowledgeable; the environment is welcoming, open, and educated; but it’s the students, most of all, which have made this a wonderful time for me. They are excited to be here and always offer me a smile—usually accompanied by a question or two, which I’m more than happy to answer. So, any questions?

I am from Australia and prior to joining Wall Street English I managed my own business. I bought an existing business which was losing money, and turned it around so that it was making a profit within a year and a half. Prior to that, I was a trainer for a retail company for over 2 years. Guangzhou has been my home since May 2008 and the Chinese people have been very welcoming. I love to travel and explore different food, culture and languages. I have visited over 20 different countries, and in my free time I would like to discover China and its neighboring countries.I am proud to be working with China’s best English training organization, and I am excited to work with you to fulfill your aspirations of speaking fluent English.

I come from Auckland New Zealand. I have many years experience in senior financial accounting management. My work experience includes New Zealand’s national airline, Air New Zealand and multinational companies such as American Express. I love talking about business. Before being an accountant, I was an English high school teacher in New Zealand and teaching is something I love doing. My other passions in life are cooking, dancing and sharing these passions with friends.

Michael Resta

My name is Michael Olmedo Resta. I am from the UK, from England. I am a CELTA (TEFL) qualified English teacher. I obtained this qualification in 2005. I have been teaching English in China since February 2006 continuously apart from a short period in Hong Kong last year in 2009 where I mainly taught part time in schools/kindergartens. Prior to joining Wall Street English and before my time in Hong Kong, I taught firstly in Shandong Province (university teaching – one and a half years) and then for 2 years in Shanghai at East China University of Science and Technology. My focus was mainly Oral English. My first degree was in English Law (I practiced for 10 years as a solicitor in UK) and so I did have the opportunity to teach some Legal English as well as International Economic Law in English at the invitation of the university. In addition I did some kindergarten and school teaching while in Shanghai and helped students at the university who were preparing to take the IELTS exam.
